Donors want to be able to identify clearly the added value of their grants and to make a real difference.New philanthropic tools are emerging in the sector : we speak about Venture Philanthropy, Social Impact Bonds, Impact Investing or Social Finance, ….The session was an opportunity to learn and reflect about these new tools, inspired by the profit sector, and which have the ambition to generate more impact, more ‘Social Return on Investment’ in the philanthropic sector. KBF FOUNDATION CANADA was established at the initiative of the Brussels-based King Baudouin Foundation to allow Canadian donors to participate in charities spearheaded by KBF CANADA. Benoît Fontaine, its Executive Director, has a Master of Laws from Université de Louvain-la-Neuve. We were hosted by the law firm Aird & Berlis, whose partner, Donald Johnston, is the Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Belgium in Ontario. Thank you Benoit for a great event and Donald for hosting !
